Background Information:
The ChemiSCREEN™ Chem-2 Parental Control Membrane Preparation is a membrane prep derived from ChemiSCREEN™ parental cells. This Chem-2 based cell line lacks most endogenous GPCR expression, and expresses high levels of the promiscuous G protein Gα15, allowing forced coupling of any class of GPCR to calcium signaling pathways. This membrane prep is intended for use as a negative control alongside ChemiSCREEN™ GPCR membrane preps of interest in radioligand binding assays or GTPγS assays. Membrane preps are crude preparations of membranes derived from a stably modified clonal cell line which was chosen for optimal receptor expression.
