Biological Information

Background Information:

The PathHunter® Human GPR103 β-Arrestin Cell-Based Assay Kit (CHO-K1) utilizes the Human GPR103 β-Arrestin orphan cell line. This engineered stable cell line is optimized for GPCR pharmacology and mechanism-of-action (MOA) studies, enabling quantitative assessment of β-arrestin recruitment following receptor activation for GPCR drug discovery and development programs. This cell line enables the assessment of ligand based activation of GPR103 GPCR activity via detection of β-arrestin recruitment. This cell line employs Enzyme Fragment Complementation (EFC) technology that combines an overexpressed PK-tagged GPR103 target receptor and an EA-tagged β-Arrestin 2 to generate a chemiluminescent signal proportional to receptor activation. Please note that this cell line's target receptor is considered an orphan, and orphan receptors typically do not have established control ligands.
This kit includes a stable engineered cell line (supplied as two vials of cryopreserved cells); cell line specific reagents for cell thawing, propagation, detachment, cryopreservation, and cell plating; and a 10‑plate detection kit required to run the assay.
All additional cell culture and assay reagents are available for purchase separately.
